The Mocona Falls, also known as Saltos del Mocona, are a spectacular natural wonder located in the
northeastern province of Misiones, Argentina. Although not as famous as the Iguazú Falls, they are
equally worth visiting. Here’s what you need to know:
What are Saltos del Mocona? These falls stretch
for 3 kilometers along the Uruguay River.
Unlike most waterfalls that run perpendicular to the
river, Mocona Falls run parallel to it, which makes them truly unique.
The falls vary in height
from 5 to 10 meters.
Location and Access: Mocona Falls are situated in Moconá Provincial Park.
The park is in
the Litoral Argentino region, near the town of El Soberbio.
Nearest airports are Posadas
(PSS) and Puerto Iguazú (IGR), both approximately 300 kilometers away.
If you arrive at
either airport, doing an overflight is recommended due to limited transportation options in the area.
